CHAPTER 1
The first time that I worked with Hanna was on
the Nicki Nailner case. Nicki had gotten drunk at a conference and had exhibited some bizarre behaviors in a restroom
at the conference. Nicki told a group of women in the restroom that she was part of a government program that had psychics
who could read people's minds through radio stations. Nicki said that she had gotten personal information on friends
and co-workers this way. Several of the women who had heard Nicki say this called one of the intelligence agencies to
report that Nicki Nailner was disclosing secrets pertaining to United States security and that Nicki Nailner may have committed
treason.
The agency assigned me, Michael, to interview the women and see what
steps should be taken regarding Nicki Nailner. The agency assigned Hanna, an intern, to go with me.
Hanna and I wrote down what the women told us. We told the women not to tell
anyone what they heard or that they had talked to us.
After we left, Hanna asked, What about the mind reading program?
Is there such a thing?"
I answered, "There was a psychic mind reading program using radio stations,
but it was not successful. The psychics could not pinpoint where something or someone was or where words were coming
from. In fact, it was found that the words that the psychics were reporting hearing were words that popped up
in the psychics minds from their own experiences or even TV programs or movies that they had seen. None of what they
were seeing or hearing was from anyone else's words, thoughts, or actions. Many of the psychics were
also words, thoughts, and actions that someone else had suggested that they wanted them to hear and see.
Another thing that some unscrupulous psychics were doing was to send out thoughts of false information on some people knowing
that these thoughts could be picked up by anyone in the world.
